Current Empties.

Hey Everyone,

This time i thought i would share with you my rubbish! In the best possible way with a review of the products i have finished up over the past few weeks. There is some products i purchase over and over again, there is also some new products too.

So from Left to Right in the photo……..

1. Jurlique balancing foaming cleanser, this is a face cleanser i purchase over and over again. It was the first product i ever starting using daily from Jurlique. Its a prefect match for my oily skin and helps maintain and balance the oil while the calendula keeps my skin calm and protected. Would i repurchase: YES

2. Jurlique Lavender  body oil, I received this body oil a long time ago as a gift for my birthday i think. a body oil is something i would never go out and buy, i just dont think about them. So the body oil stayed packed away and i didnt use it for months, until i was going though my mini department store (my walk in wardrobe, seriously it looks like a mini cosmetics store) and i found it again. I started to use it nightly on my arms and legs before bed as at that time i was working very long days and needed help to unwind before bed. It did the trick alright. sent me off to sleep like a baby from the lovely smell of lavender and my body felt so soft and smooth the next morning from using it. I started using it in the bath as well for a little extra treat and keep my body soft and smooth while bathing.

So would i repurchase: NOT SURE, purely cause I’m not a body oil guy, then again i enjoyed using it. so i’m not sure.

3. Clinique moisture surge extended thirst relief, this is a cult product that i got onto during my days working as cabin crew with Qantas. Flying so much around Australia and the world my skin was drying out badly in the cabin. So i tuned into galley FM or galley gossip to ask my fellow crew what moisturiser does everyone use while flying and this one came back with top recommendation.

Now that im no longer flying i don’t get though them as quick as i use to nor do i use it as my daily moisturiser.  I only use this during times my skin calls SOS and needs a big drink of moisture. I buy this cream from Clinique once a year at christmas in a pack. they offer great value for this moisture surge pack, its normally priced at the same price as the moisturiser  itself but comes with extra products like mini eye creams and sprays.

So would i repurchase: ONLY AT CHRISTMAS

4. Philosophy total matteness, OH MY!! i can not rave more highly of this product. I am no stranger to the philosophy product range, i LOVE the shower gels. So when this product came out only a few months ago i had to try it. Always looking for a way to control my oil and large pores.

This product is amazing and works!! it does for me. I use it as a primer under my foundation. Keeps my foundation in place all day and shine free. All of a sudden foundations and BB creams i could no longer wear cause  of being to oily i can now wear and not fear that by lunch time i look like a BP oil rig. I’ve tried matte primers and all, they work well but this product works WONDERS!!!

So would i repurchase: YES.

5. Lancome Advance Genifique, little sample size i was given. Genifique and Visionnaire was my power couple i loved using together over the past few years. This product is marketed as a serum but i have always used this as a pre serum.

I love this product and i saw results with using it when i did. Maybe next time Lancome is in gift with purchase.

So would i buy full size: MAYBE

6. Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair, another little sample sized bottle i was given. Estee lauder has recently upgraded this serum to replace the old advance night repair, this serum works with your skins DNA to help repair and turnover skin cells. They say its like sleep in a bottle for when your skin doesn’t get enough rest. I would have to agree with this statement as i used this sample on a recent world wind trip away with little or no sleep at times, i did notice my skin looked fresh and awake even when i didn’t feel fresh and awake.  So sleep in a bottle? maybe!!!

So would i buy full sized: YES

7. SK-II Facial Treatment essence, once again this is another one of my cult following products when i was flying, use to love buying it duty free as it was cheap in duty free and then crew discount on top of that. I stopped using this product after flying. Has this little sample sparked my long lost love for SK-II again??

Would i repurchase? YES!!!!!!!!!

Well as Porky Pig would say, that’s all folks. I hope you enjoyed my product empties and if you would like to add any of your thoughts on any of these products please do, just leave a comment below.

Have a great day and until next time,

xxx

Lancôme La Vie est Belle

Stuck on a wonderful gift idea for your mum this Mothers Day, or want to treat yourself maybe?

If you have not yet smelled this wonderful fragrance from Lancome HURRY in store now. You wont be disappointed! I am on my 2nd bottle…

From Lancôme’s website…

“La vie est belle”, a French expression meaning “Life is beautiful”; the manifesto of a new era. Universal yet personal, Lancôme’s femininity is a choice embraced by women, not an imposed standard. The choice to live one’s life and fill it with beauty. Your own way.

Lancôme has long fostered this conviction, and shares it today with all women in the form of an exceptional creation. The fragrance of joyful femininity and happiness. The fragrance that makes life more beautiful.

La vie est belle introduces a new olfactive story, the first ever iris gourmand. The juice is made with the most precious natural ingredients, a modern interpretation of an oriental fragrance with a twist of gourmand. It entwines the elegance of iris with the strength of Patchouli and the sweetness of a gourmand blend; for an incredible scent with depth and complexity.

Lancôme Teint Visionnaire Foundation 7 Day Trial

I was fortunate enough to be selected by Lancôme recently as one of their trail team and I have been reviewing the newly released Teint Visionnaire foundation for a period of one week. I wanted to share my experiences with you from a male’s perspective using Teint Visionnaire. Using this product as a guy I wanted to give you a unique perspective on this product, you know, give you the true low-down, or the T as they say (the Truth) on what it delivers. All T and hopefully no shade honey!

For those of you unfamiliar with Teint Visionnaire, Lancôme’s product guide specifies that it can do the following:

The product combines two steps in the same foundation to beautifully reconcile perfect coverage with natural results without compromising.”

Image

So what is Teint Visionnaire? It’s a two part product containing a high coverage precision corrector in the lid compartment and a standard 30ml foundation in a bottle containing 2% concentration of LR2412, which is a molecule that is integrated into Lancôme’s Visionnaire serum.

So my story begins with this trial on a Monday in late March…

Image

Day One

After my package arrived the night before (hooray!) I was excited to start my trial of Teint Visionnaire shade 02 and to really put this product through its paces. I already had to meet some girlfriends in town for a lunch date, I decided it would be a FABULOUS opportunity to give this product a whirl and impress my friends with FLAWLESS skin.

Image

I’ll give you a bit of history about my skin: it’s combination oily and am prone to the occasional breakout. My skin also shows up redness pretty much any time I am under stress or am experiencing hot flushes (be it the heat, or the occasional gorgeous man to walk by). This day happens to be quite hot so what better way to put this product to the test.

Using this for the first time, I threw caution to the wind and thought, ‘what the hell?’ – no primer, no finishing powder.

I applied the product as per the instructions (don’t worry, I get a little creative as the days progressed) and am surprised at how the product glides on to my skin from my brush and how light it feels. Being a guy and having a larger surface area to cover, plus the fact I do wear facial hair so I needed 2 pumps to provide the coverage I was happy with. The formulation is thin with medium coverage that gives me a dewy finish that I LOVE!

I headed into town and had a full day out in the baking sun and heat. This product contains an SPF20, which kept my sunburn prone skin happy and protected. To my surprise, although I did get incredibly hot and sweaty, the product did not slide off my face nor was the redness apparent that would normally pop up and make me look like I was a prawn at Christmas lunch.

My girlfriends were also quite impressed at my flawless complexion and I could sense a hint of jealousy in one of them while we were enjoying a cappuccino alfresco-style in Bondi Junction.

Result for the day? I was pretty impressed, but knew there was room for improvement. Tomorrow, I will try a few things differently to see if I can work it how I know this product can perform.

Day Two

I woke up early today and sleepily began my usual morning routine. I was pleasantly shocked to notice that the pores on my nose appear to have reduced in size since using the product for one day.

Let me give you the T on the pores of my nose; I have spent a small fortune over the years trying to reduce the size of those troublesome pores and have been let down time and time again by products claiming to work miracles. So you could understand my shock when the blighters actually started to look like they were being tamed. There is truth to the claim that this product can reduce pore size, so I was excited to continue the trial to see how far this claim can be demonstrated.

Given that yesterday I used the product straight from the bottle to skin, I wanted to trial a different method of application. So how did I apply Teint Visionnaire? I used a high-end primer and used the expert tips to apply the foundation. Expert tips I hear you say? This is the T according to Lancôme:

  1. Take a small amount of the corrector and blend in a circular motion on the back of your hand. Warming the product before applying will aid blending, helping to achieve flawless coverage.
  2. For a fuller coverage without a mask effect, mix high coverage precision corrector with a drop of the foundation.

Image

The result?

I was very happy with how the foundation performed with schedule on this day and keeping my main concern at bay, which is my redness and of course, protecting my skin from sun damage.

 Image

Day Three

I’m at home today and have an open schedule, so what better opportunity to experiment and play with my new foundation. I thought I’d share with you a secret… after a few hours of experimenting, I have come up with my own pro tip that I’d like to share with you. Now, this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but let’s just say this worked for me and it was an absolute success. Give it a try and leave your comments as I’d love to read your feedback.

My pro tip?

  1. Take a medium to large amount of the corrector and apply it to the back of your hand to create a palate. Image
  2. Add your desired amount of foundation, (which was in my case two pumps) on top of the corrector palate on to the back of your hand.Image
  3. Allow your natural body heat to warm both the corrector and foundation palate you’ve just created. Image
  4. Take your favorite foundation brush and apply to your face* as you would normally apply your foundation. Image

*Note: Don’t worry about not using all the corrector palate on your hand; the brush will absorb this along with the foundation and you will not have any residual remaining on your hand.

The result?

The absolute BEST coverage out of any foundation that I have used, EVER. (I have over 35 different foundations in my collection.) I did not require any touch-ups, even after eight hours of wear I still looked #RunwayReady.

Although I had the day at home, I was still active and able to put the foundation through its paces. I have another outing tomorrow, so I will apply the foundation in the same manner to see how it copes with pollutants, various weather conditions and air conditioning.

Day Four

So today I start my usual morning routine and notice straight away that there are a few noticeable changes to my skin. The dark circles which usually feature under my eyes have noticeably become lighter and my skin tone is more even. The pores on my nose look smaller, which is a testament to the legitimate claims of this product.

I’ve applied the product in the same manner as I did in day three (see my pro tip) and had an equally fantastic result as the day before. I am completely in love with this product now and am enjoying wearing it.

Image

Day Five and Six

I’ve put the entry for both days together as I did the same thing as in day four, knowing that together with the application and Teint Visionnaire that I had a system down pat that worked for me and was flawless. One noticeable difference on both day five and six was that I was no longer conscious of checking my foundation at every possible opportunity for signs of wear or touch up. I began to #TrustLancôme that this was going to work for me and that I could ‘paint’ and forget about my foundation. As someone with oily combination skin this is important to me because I usually have to blot my face by lunchtime to remove excess oil and grime.

Image

#TrustLancôme

Day Seven

So, what result did I notice from using Teint Visionnaire over one week? Well the most important thing for me was reduced pores, even skin tone and reduced dark circles under my eyes. With the inclusion of LR2412, one thing I wasn’t expecting from the result was smoother skin.

Putting this into context, I’ve used this product for only one week and have noticed results from daily use. Can you imagine how good your skin would be from using this product over a few months?

I invite you to go to your nearest Lancôme counter and get a sample in your shade of this magic foundation. Now, I know everybody’s skin is different, and that you may experience results different to me, but I can guarantee that you will see some of the results I have reported. So go on, what are you waiting for?

Final words…

What’s your secret? Mine is two new best friends, a foundation and corrector.
